I've been on this site for a fifth of my life and haven't been very productive to any extent. Some old pictures here and there, but nothing that I'm currently willing to update. Maybe that will change this summer. Maybe I'll find some motivation, some drive for creating.
Art class is kind of slow. I'm working on a Norman Rockwell painting in oils, and will hopefully be back in the schools photolab by September. 3rd year students can start using colour film, yay! After getting a summer job I might be able to upgrade my camera too, my Pentax K-1000 with a broken light meter just doesn't cut it.
Sorry to my devwatchers and devwatchees I've been neglecting. I haven't posted comments much or even read my messages in a long time, but I usually go through friends galleries once a month or so. Everyones work just keeps getting better and better, keep updating.
I'm sick and home from school for the day so I'll scan some old photos for uploading. My gallery will probably be updated by this evening
(That's all for my relevent art-related updates. The following is just a personal blog of recent events)
I finished Grease in April on a very unsatisfying note. I just didn't feel connected to the cast at all, the whole experience was a bust for me. The show itself was succesful though and the 6 sold-out audiences loved it.
Chicago, however, was amazing. Working with an adult cast, a real stage manager, and a non-dictator director was so refreshing. So much talent and positive energy was rooted in that cast and crew and I think it rubbed off on me somewhat, especially at the cast party. 2 people in paticular made that night wonderful for me. One of them was a best friend and mentor, the other a male cast member who made sure even the minors like us were included in the festivities. It was overall the best time I've had all year.
I have also started working on the production of the film Boundary Creek. It will go to Sundance, Toronto, and Vancouver film fests after 6 months or so of editing. I can't believe all of the great opportunities I've been offered in the local arts lately, I'm not even 16 and have had so many experiences with it. Thanks to the teachers and community leaders who've gotten me involved.
My advice to anyone out there who wants to do these sorts of things is to VOLUNTEER YOUR ASS OFF. It's a fun way to learn, your work will always in demand, and it looks great on a resume. See you all backstage in Hollywood or on Broadway someday.

they played at hearts as other children might play at ball; only, as it was really their two hearts that they flung to and fro, they had to be very, very handy to catch them, each time, without hurting them.

Cut me some slack. I just found out that only I can prevent forest fires, and that's a lot of pressure.
